Bryson DeChambeau Chugs Wine From U.S. Open Trophy With Eric Trump
Among the many stops Bryson DeChambeau made along his media circus journey after winning his second U.S. Open on Sunday including a visit to Trump National Golf Club in New York on Monday night. He stopped in for a drink, and a rather large and unique one at that.
Upon his arrival to the club, DeChambeau was greeted with a video message from former President Donald Trump congratulating him on his drama-packed victory at Pinehurst No. 2 over the weekend. Alina Habba, the former President's attorney, shared a video from the scene with a snippet of the clip showing Trump speak about how DeChambeau has "the long ball and everything else."
While the former President wasn't there in person to celebrate DeChambeau's victory, his son Eric Trump was, and he helped the 30-year-old fill the U.S. Open trophy with what we can assume is a Trump bottle of red wine.
"Now that's a full trophy, ladies and gentlemen," Eric Trump says before DeChambeau takes a lengthy pull from the trophy-turned wine glass.
Following his first U.S. Open title back in 2020, DeChambeau explained that he typically doesn't drink and instead made headlines by drinking chocolate milk in celebration. It appears times have changed a bit with Bryson taking some large gulps of vino from one of the most iconic trophies in sports.
DeChambeau has played plenty of rounds of golf with Donald Trump over the years and represented Trump Golf in the past saying he is "very lucky to have a relationship" with the former President.
On top of his personal video message, Donald Trump also wrote a congratulatory note on Truth Social shortly after DeChambeau's victory on Sunday.
"Congratulations to Bryson DeChambeau on his incredible WIN of the United States Open!" Trump wrote on the social media platform. "He showed a toughness and inner strength, matched perfectly with his GREAT Golfing Talent, that can never be denied!
"Under massive pressure, he pulled off some of the greatest shots ever made, especially his spectacular sand save on the 18th Hole that gave him the Victory."
