Bronny James Laughably Claims He 'Never Thought' About Playing With Dad LeBron In NBA

The idea that Bronny James could one day team up with his dad, LeBron James, in the NBA one day has been alive and well from the moment he was born. After Bronny decided to play basketball at a high level and earn a scholarship to play at USC this past season, the thought of him joining forces with his father has been among the most-talked-about narratives perhaps in NBA history.

LeBron has also gone on the record multiple times saying that it has been a dream of his to play alongside his son in the NBA, but apparently, Bronny hasn't been paying attention to any of that.

"My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself and, of course, get to the NBA," Bronny James said Tuesday. "I never thought about playing with my dad. But of course, he's brought it up a couple times."

"This is a serious business. I don't feel like there would be a thought of ‘I’m just drafting this kid just because I'm gonna get his dad.' I don't think a GM would really allow that. I think I've put in the work and I'll get drafted because of not only the player but the person that I am."

Bronny, understandably, wants to get to the league and make a name for himself, but he simply does not have that luxury given who his father is. For him to claim that he hasn't ever given much thought to teaming up with his dad is rich, very rich.

Bronny has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft after what was an underwhelming freshman campaign at USC, but while he may not be close to being the top prospect in the class, his name alone makes him intriguing from both a marketing perspective and the idea that LeBron may do everything in his power to join forces with his son.

Most mock drafts have Bronny James being selected in the second round or going undrafted altogether, which could mean LeBron's Lakers could work their magic and have him sign with Los Angeles.
