Brock Purdy Asked Insane Question About Lee Harvey Oswald Comparisons

Brock Purdy was asked one of the craziest questions in the history of Super Bowl media events.

Purdy is gearing up to lead the San Francisco 49ers into battle Sunday at Allegiant Stadium against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday.

Vegas is fired up and ready to roll. Sin City is on fire with anticipation and I'm sure the booze is already flowing.

Brock Purdy asked crazy Lee Harvey Oswald question.

However, the headlines Tuesday focused on a shade more than just football:

Enter Lee Harvey Oswald.

A reporter asked Brock Purdy what the 49ers QB thought about comparisons people are making about his physical appearance and that of the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy.

Purdy was clearly so stunned by the question that he didn't have any idea how to answer. Watch the wild interaction below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

WHAT. A. QUESTION. FOR. BROCK. PURDY.

If you asked me if I thought Lee Harvey Oswald would be brought up during a Super Bowl press event, I would have said "no" so quickly that your head would spin.

In what context would the man who fired the shots that killed JFK ever need to be brought up at an NFL event? Well, we now have the answer.

People apparently think he shares a striking resemblance to the 49ers QB. I had to check to make sure it's real, and it actually is.

There are plenty of comparisons floating around social media. That's fine. People like to tweet crazy stuff, but a reporter bringing it up is WILD.

What kind of answer was the reporter expecting from Purdy? Was he expecting him to say? I don't think Purdy was going to respond with, "I'm flattered to be compared to a man who killed a sitting President. Absolutely honored."

Congratulations to everyone involved in this wild situation. It's a reminder that the internet and sports remain unpredictable, but I'd suggest leaving the JFK assassination questions in drafts next time. Let me know what you think of the question and exchange at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
