Brock Purdy Heroically Saved Reporter And Dog From Coyote Attack

Brock Purdy can do a lot more than just throw a football.

He's also a hero.

Purdy is fresh off leading the 49ers to the Super Bowl this past season, where his squad fell in overtime to the Chiefs. Despite being an afterthought as the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, Purdy has turned into a very solid NFL QB and his future is very bright.

What does he do in his free time? Apparently, save lives.

Brock Purdy saved a reporter from a potential coyote attack.

Pat McAfee spoke to Purdy on Tuesday and revealed to his audience that the NFL passer saved the life of a reporter and her dog being stalked by a massive coyote. Yes, this is 100% real and not a shtick. Brock Purdy leaped into action to save a random person.

"I can't believe that was a real thing. She walked by, and sure enough, she says she's a news anchor, and I'm like, dude, I just saved a news achor's life from getting eaten by a coyote. It's real, man. I. can confirm it…We're shooting this commercial on a hill on the outside of [San Francisco], and I see this thing trotting by. It had a long tail. I'm like, 'Bro, that looks like a mini wolf.' Sure enough, nobody was going to scream, and I was, like, alright. So, I screamed, 'Yo, there's a coyote.' And that thing went running off. Could have been an ugly day on the shoot, but we saved her," Purdy explained to McAfee.

For those of you who might not know, coyotes can be incredibly aggressive and violent. While they usually won't try to attack humans, they'll kill dogs without hesitation, especially smaller ones.

We shoot coyotes on sight where I come from. It's a green light every single time. You see a coyote and you're packing, then you start slinging.

While Purdy didn't start blasting, he did scream out so the woman knew she was being stalked. His quick thinking almost certainly kept her dog alive if the coyote had decided to attack. Small dogs have no shot against a coyote.

Now, could a big dog fight off a pissed off coyote? Certainly, especially if the dog has a bit of gravel in its stomach. However, a small dog is going to get smoked, and depending on what happens with the human, that could also go sideways.

Fortunately, Brock Purdy was there to save the day. He can sling touchdown passes and protect the innocent. He's truly an all-American man. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
