Brian Windhorst Goes Into Full Conspiracy Theory Mode After LeBron James Uses A Knicks Towel
LeBron James wore a towel with the Knicks' logo on it after the Lakers' win at Madison Square Garden over the weekend and ESPN's Brian Windhorst is convinced James did so on purpose to send some sort of message.
According to Windhorst, we need to overlook the fact that James was dripping in sweat and may have just been using the towel to clean himself up during his postgame interview. The towel is supposedly a sign.
Windhorst has essentially followed James' every move since his high school days and is fully convinced that his towel selection was "a brilliant move."
"Obviously LeBron often wears towels and this is why it’s so brilliant, because he has perfect deniability," Windhorst said on his ‘Hoops Collective’ podcast.
"He can just be like, ‘Oh, I just put a towel around my shoulders. What are you talking about? You guys are out of your mind.’ But this is what LeBron excels at. He computes all this stuff. Of course, he was cognizant and aware he was putting on a towel that said New York Knicks. Why would he mess with the Knicks? Because he was using the Knicks as a tool to pressure the Lakers."
This is why ESPN presumably pays Windhorst the big bucks, for big-brain analysis regarding James putting a towel around his shoulders.
Just like Windhorst claims that this is a "move" from James to get the attention of the Lakers' front office and get him some help for a playoff push, this conspiracy theory is just a move from Windhorst as well.
He now has a moment to point to if - and it's a monstrous if - James ends up forcing himself out of Los Angeles.
It's interesting that members of the media keep playing the ‘what if’ game with James when he has said on countless occasions that he wants to play with his son, Bronny, when he enters the NBA.
