Braves Manager Brian Snitker Punished By Foul Ball To The Junk

Coaching baseball is not for the faint of heart.

Just ask Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker, who had to hold back the tears and man up after taking a fast ball to the groin in the fifth inning.

Atlanta welcomed the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night, which featured the unfortunate scene. During an Ozzie Albies at-bat at the bottom of the inning, a foul ball tipped toward the Braves' dugout furiously sailed toward Snitker. Before he could evade the foul ball, Snitker took the shot to the sack and the contact echoed throughout Truist Park.

Snitker shared a smirk with Albies who was eyeing the dugout, looking for a nod from the skipper after nearly shattering Snitker's manhood.

Thankfully, the manager was able to shake off the contact. The broadcast did a solid job of poking fun at Snitker for taking the rogue ball to the pouch like a man.

The broadcast sounded off, "Oh, no, not on the belly. That's a different kind of belly. Under the belt buckle. Does a manager wear a cup?"

It's been a big year for below-the-belt hits in baseball.

Earlier this season, Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel missed action because of a "testicular contusion" suffered after a foul ball punished his junk.

"Where were you when Brian Snitker got hit in the business and turned the season around," one fan reacted.

"This is hard to watch," another fan commented.

The Braves' season since losing Ronald Acuna, Jr. has been a bit of a headache for fans in Atlanta. The team has slid to nine games behind the division lead in the NL East after fighting a tight, early-season battle with the MLB-best Phillies.

Atlanta will need bal… nerves of steel to overcome their injury-riddled season.
