Line Outside Assembly Hall To See Caitlin Clark, Iowa Face Indiana Is Unbelievable

Iowa star women's basketball player Caitlin Clark set the all-time NCAA women's scoring record last week against Michigan. If people thought the hype train might slow down a bit after she broke the record, they would be very, very wrong. Indiana fans lined up HOURS before tip-off on Thursday night for a chance to see Clark in action.

Seriously, the line is so long it's almost hard to believe it's real. The line literally is broken up twice because it crosses over two different intersections and picks right back up on the other side of the street.

Take a look:

This will be Clark's first appearance since setting the scoring record with a 49-point outburst in a win over the Wolverines last Thursday. She went 9-of-18 from the three-point line and pushed her career points total to 3,569.

Although she broke the NCAA women's scoring record, there are still several more milestones in her sights. Perhaps the most notable is the overall NCAA scoring record set by "Pistol" Pete Maravich.

She sits 99 points short of Maravich and while she's an incredible talent, she's not going to set the record at Indiana on Thursday night.

Although, I probably shouldn't put boundaries on her … right, Reggie Miller?

People just want a chance to witness greatness and Caitlin Clark is the greatest player in women's college basketball history. Sorry, Jay Williams, even if you refuse to say it that doesn't make it any less true.

This is far from the last game that Clark can expect to see record numbers of people in the arena.

OutKick's Trey Wallace reported on Wednesday that tickets for the women's Big Ten Tournament are nearly sold out … two weeks before the start of the tournament. That's unprecedented.

Not only is the "Caitlin Clark Effect" real, it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
