Argentina Reminds Drake Is 'Not Like Us' After Defeating Canada In Copa America Semifinal

Drake keeps taking L's. First, his hip-hop career is in tatters thanks to Compton's Kendrick Lamar massacring him in a legendary rap battle. Then, the Drake Curse continued Tuesday when he lost $300,000 after Argentina beat his native Canada 2-0 in the Copa América semifinals. Argentina's social media team trolled Drizzy following its win, adding insult to injury.

Argentina's victory over Canada was the second time this year Drake lost going against a GOAT. In this case, Lionel Messi, who also scored a goal vs. Canada in the 51st minute for La Albiceleste. Even before demolishing the "OVO" rapper, Kendrick already had the highest approval rating in rap among music critics and the hip-hop community.

For those living under a rock, or just not rap/hip-hop fans, "Not Like Us" is the title of Kendrick's fourth diss track for the Toronto-based rapper. As of early July, "Not Like Us" appears to be the "song of the summer". It will be played at clubs, weddings, graduation parties, etc. worldwide. There has never been a diss track in rap this popular.

In all fairness, Drake was gambling on his home country and a heavy underdog (+900), and wagered money he could afford to lose. Reportedly, Aubrey Graham has a quarter of a billion dollars in the bank, roughly $340 million in Canadian money.

So, that $300,000 loss is only 0.12% of Drake's net worth, which is objectively great bankroll management. Plus, Wheelchair Jimmy won $1 million by successfully betting on Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup. He wisely bet the Kansas City Chiefs to beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 2024 to bring home $1.2 million.

But, after his win at the Super Bowl, Drake's sports betting losses have been mounting. Since March, Champagne Papi has donked off $2.5 million by losing bets on the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Finals, the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals, and boxer Tyson Fury in his heavyweight title fight vs. Oleksandr Usyk.

As a Los Angeles County resident who loves Kendrick Lamar and a sports bettor getting crushed on the PGA TOUR, I have serious schadenfreude over Drake's recent losses. Knowing how Drake moves, I can sarcastically say, "This couldn't have happened to a nicer guy".
