Angels Broadcasters Destroy Umpires For Blowing Game-Ending Call

There are bad calls, and then there are egregiously bad calls.

And sometimes, there are egregiously bad calls that stand even after replay shows just how terrible they are.

That’s what happened in Anaheim yesterday when the Angels were trying to rally against the Baltimore Orioles. Los Angeles outfielder Jo Adell was called out attempting to steal second base, ending the game. The only thing is - it wasn't an attempt. He was clearly safe. Everyone in attendance saw it live, as did viewers at home.

The only people who didn’t see it were the umps. Both during the live play, and on video replay after the Angels challenged.

The home crowd was not happy and the Angels broadcasters were, well, listen…

UMPIRES GOT IT WRONG EVEN AFTER REPLAY!

"That is absurd. That is absolutely absurd," Los Angeles Angels play-by-play broadcaster Wayne Randazzo responded once the umpires upheld the call. "That's a joke. Absolutely ridiculous. It's clear on the replay that Adell was safe and it's a ridiculous way to end the game. That's garbage!"

"That's unbelievable!" Bally Sports West analyst Mark Gubicza chimed in before saying over and over "his foot was on the base and then the tag!" Randazzo responded "I mean, I don't know what else one needs to see there. Just a heartbreaking way for this one to end for the Angels."

It's the second time in a week that an MLB team's broadcasters have called out the utter BS that is becoming nearly routine from umpires this season

Last week, umpire Angel Hernandez was on God knows what planet when he called three strikes in a row during the Rangers-Astros game. The only thing for Angel is, none of the pitches were actually strikes, leading to the Rangers broadcasters mocking him with an "oh my goodness," after the 2nd strike into them screaming "You have got to be kidding me! What in the world [was that call?!]"

FANS NO LONGER TRUST UMPIRES OR REFEREES

As I wrote last week, it's almost like some of the umpires are daring MLB to get rid of them and go to robo-umpires for how egregious their calls have been this season so far - and we haven't even hit May.

Meanwhile, professional sports as a whole is having a serious identity crisis as fans are losing faith in th integrity of the game. Any NFL fan has become used to a referee making a questionable call in the last two minutes of a game. The NBA referees have become an absolute joke. And as we're seeing with MLB so far this season, some of these umpires are dropping the ball.

Maybe MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, who is so obsessed with bringing in the younger demographic and new fans, should start with those that are in charge of calling the actual game.
