Angel Reese Complains About Flying Commercial

Angel Reese isn't a fan of flying commercial.

Air travel has become a major topic in the WNBA world, and the league is pivoting to flying chartered flights as much as possible.

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever flew on a chartered jet to the team's opener against the Connecticut Sun.

Angel Reese isn't happy about flying commercial.

The league is still in the process of ironing out travel plans. It's definitely interesting, seeing as how the price tag for the league's chartered flights reportedly is $25 million over the next two seasons.

That's a lot of money for a league that doesn't print money like the NBA or any other major American sports league. Despite the hefty cost, the former LSU star turned Chicago Sky rookie would like the WNBA to hurry up so she can fly chartered.

Reese posted on her Instagram story Tuesday ahead of the Wednesday opener against Dallas that she's, "Just praying that this is one of the last commercial flights the Chicago Sky has to fly...."

She then dropped a cringe quote about "practicing gratitude and patience" as the new travel plans are instituted.

This is such a weird post from Reese. She's trying to act like she's not complaining, but that's exactly what she's doing. She really shouldn't be complaining at all.

The WNBA is transitioning to chartered flights in her rookie season, and it's not even clear if it's a smart financial decision. Unlike a lot of WNBA veterans, she's not going to spend years and years on commercial flights. Yet, she has to take one to Dallas and it apparently warrants an Instagram story. Cringe, Angel. Very cringe.

The reality of the situation is pretty simple. If the WNBA actually made money, then pivoting to chartered flights would have happened a long time ago. Instead, the WNBA more or less survives because of the NBA, and while the league has the opportunity to elevate itself, it hasn't happened yet. Just remember the next time you're working a double shift that Angel Reese had to fly commercial like everyone else in the league did for decades. Say a prayer for her. Sounds like she needs it.
