American League Locks 10th All-Star Win in Last 11 Seasons After Big-Time Outing From Red Sox Hero

Another Midsummer Classic is in the books, and the American League is back to dominating the All-Star Game.

The American League is once again the MLB All-Star champion after temporarily falling off the wagon last year to surrender an unexpected loss to the National League.

A loss in 2023 was redeemed with a 5-3 AL win in the 2024 All-Star Game, which featured plenty of star power and ugly uniforms, the latter of which has been a running joke for MLB this year.

Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes and Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani were among the night's biggest names. However, the biggest honor of the night, the Ted Williams ASG MVP award, went to Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran, who put the AL ahead in the fifth inning with a two-run rocket to right off Cincinnati Reds ace Hunter Greene.

The NL drew first blood in the third inning when a three-run home run by Ohtani gave them a 3-0 advantage. Ohtani tallied his third home run in an All-Star game (two previously with the Angels) with the 400-foot blast on Tuesday.

The comfortable lead didn't last for long as the AL responded with their own three runs in the bottom of the third, led by an RBI double from Juan Soto. He reached home for the tying run after a single by Cleveland Guardians All-Star David Fry.

Paul Skenes started for the National League, becoming the first rookie to start in an All-Star Game. As OutKick's Ian Miller wrote, Skenes led a clean 16-pitch inning (11 strikes) and quickly retired the side. LSU's Livvy Dunne went bananas from the Globe Life Field seats in Arlington, TX.

The National League hoped to kickstart a streak after last year's miraculous ASG win, but they quickly fell back to earth.

Now, the AL holds 10 of the last 11 All-Star Game titles.

Hosted in Texas, the 2024 All-Star festivities felt big for a weekday All-Star slate.

The Home Run Derby may have fallen short of drawing marquee talent to participate, but Tuesday's All-Star Game felt grand, with stars like Bryce Harper, Aaron Judge, and Juan Soto drawing the spotlight. From the anthem to the plays on the field, the ASG was better than the Derby.

So kick back and enjoy the highlights; it's all we baseball fans are getting until Friday.
