Former Packers WR Amari Rodgers Wishes He Had The Same ‘Love’ From Aaron Rodgers As Malachi Corley
Aaron Rodgers is welcoming rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley to the New York Jets — and into his home. But the QB's former teammate, Amari Rodgers, is feeling a little jealous.
Shortly after the Jets drafted Corley in the third round (65th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft, Aaron extended a generous offer to the 22-year-old.
"I only talked to him on draft night. I’ve texted him the last couple of nights," Corley told The New York Post about his relationship with his new quarterback. "He said I could stay in his guest house if I want to. So, yeah, me and him are close. That’s going to be my dog while I’m here."
But apparently, the future Hall of Famer doesn't extend the same hospitality to all incoming rookies.
Amari Rodgers was drafted by the Green Bay Packers out of Clemson — also in the third round — in 2021. Of course, that's when Aaron was under center for the Pack.
In a since-deleted post on Twitter / X, Amari seemed a little salty that Aaron gave preferential treatment to Corley and not to him.
Responding to news of Corley's guest house offer, Amari wrote: "Promise this helps him play better as a Rookie. If only i had this type of love coming into GB, but to each his own!"
Ouch.
Perhaps Aaron has just gotten more generous in his old age? Maybe he sees more potential in Corley? Or maybe he just didn't have a vacant guest house in Green Bay?
So many questions!
The Packers cut Amari Rodgers in 2022 during his second season. He spent a short time after that with the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts. He currently plays for the UFL's Birmingham Stallions.
