Alvin Kamara And Raheem Mostert Win Sport Fishing Competition, Jameis Winston Interviews The Fish
Alvin Kamara and Raheem Mostert are showing off their non-football skills this off-season.
The team of running backs took home first place on Saturday at the Sport Fishing Championship's annual "The Catch" event — a made-for-TV offshore fishing competition that pairs SFC's top anglers with current NFL players.
Kamara kicked off the contest by reeling in a mahi-mahi just before Mostert got a sailfish. One of the coolest moments of the day came when Kamara, Mostert and angler Toby Berthelot all three hooked sailfish at the same time.
"Chaos. Organized chaos," Kamara said. "It was great. Lot of moving parts, but I think we did it effortlessly. Raheem was on there. He was fighting for his life. I was fighting for my life for a second. I got mine in first. We had to give Raheem some moral support."
Mostert added: "I was a little nervous. I felt like I was the last one on the reel. I just tried to do my best to make sure that we had the three-peat."
Several other NFL players took part in the event, including Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, running backs Dalvin and James Cook, Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter, Titans defensive end Jeffery Simmons and Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson.
Browns quarterback Jameis Winston was there, too, but he was more of a commentator than a participant.
Here he is interviewing some fish as they unsuccessfully fight for their lives on the boat deck.
Never change, Jameis.
Alvin Kamara and Raheem Mostert were paired with angler Jaselyn Berthelot. Altogether they were credited with four sailfish, three tuna and one mahi-mahi, and their victory in the competition earned a $100,000 donation to the Coast Guard Foundation in their names.
