Video Of Airline Worker Chucking College Golf Team's Golf Bags Is A Nightmare Watch For Every Golfer
Forget traveling with a small child, being wedged into a middle seat, or being told your flight doesn't have WiFi despite the fact we're living in the year 2024, and it should be illegal for that to be the case. None of those things compare to the crippling fear and anxiety that comes with flying with your golf clubs.
The entire experience is the worst, and it starts with the fact that you have to pay fifty-plus bucks to have your golf bag checked anyway, even though the airline makes it abundantly clear that they are not responsible for any damage that may occur. You're forced to swipe your credit card, hand over your clubs, see them put on a conveyor belt and then begin praying that you'll one day meet again.
The number of things that can go wrong between the time you get robbed by the airline for them to load your golf bag on the airplane and that bag getting back into your hands is essentially infinite. However, the most important thing is your golf clubs make it to their destination, and the most crucial piece of the puzzle is how they're handled being taken off of the plane, thrown on a cart, and delivered to baggage claim.
The ETSU men's golf team had a front-row seat to this all-important process, and let's just say it was not a good day to be one of the team's golf bags.
The team's official X account shared a video that has garnered nearly three million views of one airline worker absolutely manhandling their golf bags, throwing them directly onto the concrete with serious force.
It's worth noting that ETSU finished second in NCAA Regionals to punch its ticket to the NCAA Championship, so the team was riding the highest of highs as it landed, only to look out the window of the plane to see its golf bags being thrown against concrete.
Given that ETSU is a Division I program, it seems like each player had a high-end travel bag therefore, hopefully, clubs weren't (too) damaged in the process. Let this be a reminder to all of us, myself included, that paying a bit extra for a real-deal travel bag is worth every penny. A cheap one, nor your clubs, are surviving the torture like this particular airline worker delivered to the bags of the ETSU team.
