Adult Dead, 5-Year-Old Child Injured After Shooting At Youth Football Game: REPORT

Tragedy struck early on Saturday morning at a youth football game at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill, Maryland. 

According to Fox 5 Washington DC, two adults who seemed to know each other got into a heated verbal altercation in the stands at the game. After the altercation, one of the men reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the man he was arguing with. In the process, he also shot a 5-year-old child.

Both victims were rushed to a local hospital and evaluated. The child (whose name was not identified) fortunately survived. However, the adult died from his injuries (his name was also not disclosed). 

Chief of Police for the Prince George's County Police Department Malik Aziz confirmed that the suspect fled the shooting and that authorities are still trying to track him down.
