Aaron Rodgers Resurfaces At UFC 303 In Vegas After Skipping Jets Mandatory Minicamp

Aaron Rodgers may not make every New York Jets workout, but he never misses UFC!

The future Hall of Fame quarterback was on hand at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Saturday night — his first public appearance since skipping the Jets' mandatory minicamp earlier in June. Rodgers shared a photo of himself on Instagram sitting next to former Green Bay Packers teammate Marcedes Lewis.

"Me and Big Dog #UFC303," he wrote.

Rodgers was seen throughout the event on the broadcast, and, at one point, cameras caught him walking around backstage.

The Jets' quarterback has become a regular at UFC fights, and he was also in the crowd for UFC 302 last month in Newark, N.J. There, he met and shook hands with former President Donald Trump.

Rodgers was an "unexcused absence" during Jets workouts from June 11 to 13 — with rumors swirling that the four-time NFL MVP was on another one of his famous ayahuasca retreats. According to FOX Sports' Jason McIntyre, the QB was in Egypt.

And his absence didn't sit well with everyone, including some media and former players.

In an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd last week, three-time Super Bowl champ Julian Edelman admitted that he thought it was a "bad look" for Rodgers not to be there for his teammates.

"I think it’s a bad look for your leader, for whatever reason, to go and miss [a mandatory minicamp]," Edelman said. "I was with Tom Brady in his 25th year or 23rd year, and he started missing OTAs here and there, but he never missed a mandatory minicamp. I just thought it was a bad look."

Regardless of the outside noise, though, Jets head coach Robert Saleh said he and the 10-time Pro Bowler are on the same page. Rodgers was present at some OTAs this spring, and he (presumably) will be on hand when Training Camp opens next month.

And let's be honest… If the Jets are winning games come September, no one is going to care where Rodgers was in June — whether that be Egypt or UFC 303.
