49ers Fly Entire Staff To Las Vegas For The Super Bowl

Talk about employee perks!

The San Francisco 49ers flew more than 800 people out to Las Vegas as their team gears up to face the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LVIII. On Friday, the 49ers shared a video of full-time staff members, interns, family and friends on a United Airlines charter as they travel just more than 400 miles from the Bay Area to Sin City.

"Ready for the Super Bowl?" the person behind the camera asks as the passengers cheer in unison.

And the Niners' ownership didn't just send them to Vegas. Reportedly, they also covered the game tickets and hotels for all the employees and their families.

The Hunt family in Kansas City is looking awfully cheap right about now.

Meanwhile, the players arrived in Vegas earlier this week, and they've been dealing with various obstacles ever since. The team remains unhappy about the condition of the practice fields they have used at UNLV this week. Niners officials, coaches and players have noted that the surface, which is sod laid over turf, is much softer than it should be.

And on Thursday, the team had a rude awakening when the fire alarm went off at 6 a.m. at the team hotel. Engineers immediately said it was a false alarm and no one needed to evacuate. Still, the ringing went on for an ear-piercing 18 minutes before staff could get the alarm turned off.

No word on whether the 800 employees will be staying at the same hotel.

Fire Alarm Went Off At 49ers Hotel, Players Convinced It Was Inside Job

The San Francisco 49ers had a rude awakening Thursday when the fire alarm went off at 6 a.m. at their team hotel in Las Vegas.

But this sort of generosity isn't new for the 49ers organization. It also brought all of its employees to Miami for Super Bowl LIV in 2020.

"Everyone's been a part of this, and we wanted to make sure they're there to help and also celebrate the moment that hopefully gets us over the hump," CEO Jed York said at the time.

There, the Niners fell to the Chiefs 31-20. Obviously, they're looking for a different outcome this time around.
