Overzealous Fan Takes Ref’s Elbow To Back After Attacking WWE Star
WWE's Monday Night Raw took an unscripted turn last night when a fan attacked superstar Seth Rollins on his way back to the locker room area following a match. Elisah Spencer, 24, blindsided Rollins before WWE referees and security jumped on the fan and escorted him from New York's Barclays Center.
“WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously,” said a statement released by the WWE. “The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Rollins was making his way towards the dressing room like he's done thousands of times before when Spencer suddenly jumped a barrier and speared Rollins, sending him to the floor. Rollins momentarily struggled to free himself from the attacker before WWE personnel and security stopped the madness, pinning the fan and landing a couple elbows of their own.
Upon realizing what happened, Rollins popped up and began taunting the reckless amateur: "Come on, boy! Is that all you got? Come on, bitch. You want to blindside me, mother f---er?"
The craziness continued, and the shocked Barclays Center crowd chanted, "F--- him up, F--- him up!" Sadly, Rollins didn't get the chance to appease the crowd since Spencer was quickly and forcefully removed from the arena.
Spencer was arrested and charged with attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs. Rollins was not injured in the attack.
