Daniel Bryan Reportedly Set To Make A Move From WWE To AEW

The wrestling wars appear to be heating up when it comes to companies looking to sign big names.

The latest rumor is that AEW (All Elite Wrestling) is set to ink former WWE heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan, a move that seems evident after WWE transferred him to the alumni section of their website.

PWInsider also confirmed that Bryan isn’t part of WWE’s 2021-2022 licensing and merchandising deals.

Reports say that Bryan has signed a deal but that his debut is scheduled for the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam event in New York City on September 22nd.

Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer states that the opportunity to wrestle for New Japan Pro-Wrestling sealed the deal for Bryan to join AEW.

The last appearance for Bryan in the WWE came in a match against champion Roman Reigns in which Bryan submitted.

His contract expired in April, making him available to any wrestling company that is interested in signing him.

Bryan isn't the only big name wrestler who appears ready to head to AEW, as another former WWE champion, C.M. Punk, is also rumored to be headed to All Elite.

Punk hasn't wrestled since the WWE Royal Rumble 2014 when he was eliminated by Kane. The company was set to have Punk wrestle Triple H at WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans, but Punk balked at the idea and left the company.
