The Good News: Check Out This Reaction To Being Selected To Compete In Special Olympics

Izzy Brinkerhoff, who has Down syndrome, thought she was going car shopping with her sister at Mohawk Chevrolet. It ends up being a set-up to tell her she'd been selected for the Special Olympics.

The 14-year-old gymnast was selected to participate in the USA Games, which will be held next June at Disney World. She'll be competing on the balance beam, bars, vault, and floor exercises, according to Times Union.

Binkerhoff's coach had this to say:

"I'm so proud of her. She does so well and trains so hard. It's an incredible honor," she said.

She's a 10-time Special Olympics gold medalist who's only been competing six years. And apparently her favorite part of competing is having her parents by her side.

"I bring mty whole family. My parents come and watch. They shout my name," Binkerhoff said.

Maybe they'll hook her up with a free trip to Disney World since they've been open the last few months? Rock on, Izzy.
