Ya Snooze Ya Lose: Former Titans Bust, Isaiah Wilson, Cut After Sleeping On The Job
"Right when I thought I was out, they pull me right back in!"
Flip that inside-out and you've got offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson, whose career in the NFL keeps getting the boot over conduct issues.
When Wilson finds a roster, it is through fate that he finds a way out, and it appears that the New York Giants are the latest team to call it quits on the lineman.
Giants beat reporter Jordan Raanan tweeted on Wednesday that Isaiah Wilson had been cut from the practice squad — adding that his frequent napping during meetings frustrated the G-Men coaching staff, triggering the decision.
With a deficient Giants offensive line, Wilson's absences these past few weeks were befuddling. He signed with the team on Sept. 29 and his months on the team appeared as a good omen for the lineman to finish out the year on the roster. Or active for a game.
The former first-round pick (2020) by the Tennessee Titans has fizzled out of every opportunity as personal issues keep getting in the way. And after a brief stint with Giants, Wilson is once again out of a job and likely out of luck finding a new team.
Tennessee traded Wilson to the Miami Dolphins on Mar. 17, 2021. In his 11-month tenure, Wilson had frustrated the Titans over legal issues, including a DUI and possession of marijuana.
The Fins cut him three days after the signing for failing to appear for a physical and additional meetings.
Prior to his deal with the Giant, Wilson had been vetted by the Indianapolis Colts; albeit, during a run of injury sit-outs to the O-line.
