With Justin Fields Injured, Andy Dalton To Start On Thanksgiving

With rookie quarterback Justin Fields dealing with bruised ribs sustained in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Chicago Bears will start veteran Andy Dalton in Week 12, Bears head coach Matt Nagy said on Tuesday.

Dalton came on in relief for Fields during Sunday's game and completed 11-of-23 passes for 201 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. It marked the first action Dalton has seen since Week 5, and Thursday will be his first start since Week 2.

Dalton signed a one-year contract with Chicago in the offseason, but he was previously a three-time Pro Bowler with the Cincinnati Bengals. NFL.com reports the Bears are 1-1 with Dalton as a starter and 2-2 in games he's appeared in.

The Bears (3-7) will travel to face the Detroit Lions (0-9) on Thanksgiving Day with kickoff set for 11:25 CST.
