Vikings RB Dalvin Cook Eventually Says 'No' To Changing His Jersey Number After Finding Out Price

After looking into the price and thinking it over, Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has decided smartly to pass on changing his number.

Cook tweeted out "33" on Thursday, meaning that he would be keeping his current jersey number instead of changing his number to No. 4.

Cook was moving forward with the thought of changing numbers, but then looking to the price of what it would cost him - and it's not cheap.

$1.5 million.

That's insane that they would charge that much, but let's be honest, it's the NFL which as we all know can do just about anything they want.

There's been a lot of talk lately about changing NFL numbers, and NFL rules require that, if a player switches his jersey number, he would have to pay for the existing inventory of unsold jerseys that feature his current number.

A source said one reason the price was so high for Cook to change his number was that league officials have expected “33 to be a top-selling jersey and therefore have already produced a lot of inventory.”

In the end a player is eventually going to change his number no matter the price, and then the loser will be a fan who may have the jersey of said player and will be stuck with a jersey of a player with a different number.
