Updates On Demaryius Thomas' Death Are Released, Tribute Scheduled For Sunday's Game

Sudden news of longtime Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas' passing devastated the NFL. The 33-year-old Thomas was found unresponsive at his residence in Georgia Thursday night and further details on his death were released Friday.

Reports detailed that the receiver had been dealing with seizures in the past year and suffered a fatal seizure on Thursday. Thomas' cousin, LaTonya Bonseigneur, spoke with the Associated Press about the receiver's struggles and the last time she spoke with Demaryius.

“He was alone and a friend couldn’t get hold of him, so he called his driver, who has a key because of these seizures, and he went into his home and found him in the shower. We’re not sure when he died. We just spoke with him (Wednesday),” Bonseigneur said.

The investigation on his death continues. His former team, the Denver Broncos, announced that a tribute for Thomas will air prior to their Week 14 matchup against the Detroit Lions from Mile High.

Thomas was drafted by the Broncos in 2010 and became a key part of the offense until 2018, notably as Peyton Manning's favorite target.

Thomas was a four-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champ with the Broncos. He led the third-most decorated career for all-time Denver pass catchers, in the same class as wideout Rod Smith and tight end Shannon Sharpe.
