Titans May Not Be Done Adding Offensive Weapons After Julio Jones Deal

The Tennessee Titans made a blockbuster deal on Sunday with the addition of star wide receiver Julio Jones. They exchanged a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 fourth-rounder for Jones and a 2023 sixth-round pick. But the deal was well worth it.

The Titans desperately needed another pass-catcher after losing wide receivers Corey Davis and Adam Humphries and top tight end Jonnu Smith during the offseason. Josh Reynolds and Dez Fitzpatrick were brought in to alleviate those losses, but they weren't nearly enough.

Now Jones joins AJ Brown in Tennessee's passing game, giving Ryan Tannehill an excellent duo. As much as the move for Jones helps their needy offense, the Titans may not be done adding weapons on that side of the football.

On Sunday, general manager Jon Robinson discussed the possibility of adding another tight end into the mix. Smith is now a New England Patriot, and MyCole Pruitt recently signed with the San Francisco 49ers. That leaves Anthony Firkser and Geoff Swaim as the top two TEs on the roster.

Firkser is a solid versatile piece, but there's still something left to be desired.

If Tennessee wants to make another move, they will need to clear some cap space now that they've taken on the full 2021 salary for Jones. If they can get that done, there are options out there -- both in free agency and via trade. Here are some of the top players left in free agency:

Potential trade candidates are a lot more difficult because of cap cost and whatever draft capital it would take to acquire a new tight end on the trade market. Still, trades are a possibility. Here are the top players at that position who might be available through a trade:
