Titans Coach Mike Vrabel Reacts To DUI Arrest Of Offensive Coordinator Todd Downing
Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence early Friday morning in the Nashville area, mere hours after the team returned from a big victory in Green Bay on Thursday night.
Downing, 42, was booked at 4:39 a.m. after he was stopped for speeding by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and determined to be under the influence.
He was released on bond at 6:46 Friday morning.
Head coach Mike Vrabel said during a Zoom call with reporters he has spoken with Downing, club controlling owner Amy Adams, and the NFL.
"The league has policies with regards to these incidents and we'll make sure the league has all the information that they need," Vrabel said.

Titans Downing Follows Good Night With Bad Morning
Vrabel added that "we all have a great responsibility as members of this community as coaches and players of this organization, fathers and husbands and teammates to make great decisions. And we understand that."
A source told OutKick that Titans leadership is "greatly disappointed" and somewhat in "disbelief" because Downing is known as a high-character person.
Vrabel said the matter is being taken very seriously, as the club conducts its own investigation into the matter.
This incident comes after the Titans delivered one of their finest offensive performances of the season in a 27-17 victory over the Packers in Lambeau Field.
The Titans had 408 total yards, with 320 of those coming through the air. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for 333 yards and 2 TDs. And even running back Derek Henry completed two passes, one of them for a TD.
The NFL will monitor the outcome this incident as it falls under the league's Personal Conduct Policy. A first offense for DUI can be punishable by a three-game suspension without pay.
Todd Downing enters his fourth season with the Titans, his 22nd NFL season and his 24th season in coaching. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2021 after initially joining the Titans in 2019 as tight ends coach.
The Titans' Delta Airlines charter left Green Bay at 12:15 a.m. (CT) and landed in Nashville at 2:11 a.m. (CT), according to FlightAware.com.
