Tim Tebow Signs Contract, Now Officially a Jacksonville Jaguar

Despite all the recent criticism, Tim Tebow is now back in the NFL. We've known for a couple weeks now that the Jacksonville Jaguars were planning to sign the former Florida quarterback, but we got official word on Thursday morning.

Adam Schefter announced via Twitter that Tebow signed his contract this morning, and he will be taking part in the team's offseason program later today.

"Tim Tebow signed his contract this morning with the Jacksonville Jaguars, per source," Schefter tweeted. "He will be on the field today for the team’s off-season program as he sets out to compete for a roster spot at tight end."

Tebow, who will soon be 34, may have a difficult transition to tight end, but new coach Urban Meyer expects more from Tebow than on-field impact. In fact, the 2011 first-round pick, in many ways, provides more value as a bottom of the roster type than he did when he was a starting QB.

We have to credit Meyer for taking a home run swing here. Only time will tell if it works out, but we're certainly pulling for Tebow.
