Saints Dump Wide Receiver Emmanuel Sanders, Latavius Murray Available In Trade Talks

Some NFL vets are getting some surprising or flat out bad news, as many are receiving news that they are being released to help out said team's salary cap situation.

In New Orleans there was never going to be a question about players having to find new homes, as the team remains as of nine in the league that is over the cap (Over the Cap says the Saints are $31 million over the cap).

That leads us to veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who was dealt to the Broncos in the middle of last year.

Sanders, who played his college ball at SMU product was highly productive with the 49ers, catching 36 passess for 502 yards and three receiving touchdowns.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos pass catcher has played 12 seasons in the league, and in that time he's caught 662 passes for 8619 and 47 touchdowns.

Sanders inked a two-year deal with the Saints prior to the start of the 2020 season, making $24 mil over two years with a $6 million dollar signing bonus.

While the team is sending Sanders packing, another player who could be on the way out in New Orleans is veteran running back Latavius Murray.

Last season Murray started seven games for the Saints, and as Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated's MMQB pointed out this week, Murray has scored nine times, rushing for 1293 yards over the last two seasons.
