Report: Josh Gordon Has Another Setback, Fails Terms of Conditional Reinstatement

Josh Gordon's attempt at an NFL return took another hit on Tuesday. The Seattle Seahawks receiver hasn't complied with the terms given for his conditional reinstatement into the league.

According to a tweet from Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Gordon "had a setback in his battle with substance abuse and now won't be allowed to practice or play indefinitely." It has been only one day since his return to Seattle's active roster.

Absolutely brutal. Dealing with any sort of substance abuse problem is difficult, and it looks like Gordon continues to struggle with it.

Gordon was originally a third-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 Supplemental Draft. His first two seasons were a huge success, bringing in 137 catches for 2,451 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.

Since then, things have gone downhill.

He's been suspended multiple times for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He has bounced around on different teams, including the New England Patriots and Seahawks, while trying to make his way back into the NFL.

Gordon played in 12 games in 2018 and six in 2019, but he continues to get tagged for off the field issues.

Hopefully he's able to get the help he needs, but his time in the NFL could be coming to an end soon. Gordon will turn 30 years old in April, which means youth will no longer be on his side.
