Report: Jon Gruden Contemplating Lawsuit Against NFL

Jon Gruden is looking at his legal options against the NFL following the email controversy that cost the head coach his job.

NFL reporter Jason La Canfora anticipates that a legal battle may still lie ahead as Gruden and the Raiders call for the League to release full details of the investigation looking at the leaked emails.

"This is anything but over," commented an anonymous source.

Team brass in Las Vegas criticized the seemingly targeted release of the emails directed at Gruden — a noted critic of commissioner Roger Goodell.

Raiders owner Mark Davis called for the League to provide a "written report" on the Washington Football Team's investigation that showcased communications between Gruden and Washington team executive Bruce Allen.

The report claims, "Some lawyers have asserted that Gruden could have a tortious interference case, claiming the NFL influenced his ouster for private emails that were sent while he was not a league employee that were revealed at a time to inflict maximum damage to Gruden's career."

The messages that were released showcased communications from 2011, at a time when Gruden was working for ESPN.

This week, Davis and Gruden met to discuss the remaining years and money left on his 10-year, $100 million contract from 2018. Both sides agreed to a settlement.
