Report: Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire Won't Play Against Cleveland

Two AFC teams will battle it out Sunday afternoon for the right to take on the upstart Buffalo Bills in next Sunday evening's AFC Championship Game.

The Kansas City Chiefs will host the suddenly healthy and red-hot Cleveland Browns, who are working to exercise the demons of the past 30 plus seasons.

Cleveland hasn't been in a divisional playoff game since January of 1995 when they were beat up by the rival Steelers 29-9.

To the Chiefs this is old hat, as they have made at least the divisional round in five of the last six seasons.

Last year the Chiefs were behind the Houston Texans 24-0, but scored 28 points in the final 10 minutes of the second quarter to go on to the eventual 51-31 win.

The team eventually won the Super Bowl, and this season they've been just as good, losing just one game all season.

That doesn't mean they don't enter Sunday's game with question marks, as the team is going to be minus one of their big play makers on offense.

That player is rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who according to Adam Schefter of ESPN will miss the game with ankle and hip injuries.

With Edwards-Helaire out, the team will turn to a player that the Browns know very well, that being former Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell, as the starter for the Chiefs.

Darwin Thompson and Darrell Williams also will get some playing time at running back for the Chiefs in the playoff affair.

The Browns, a week after not having a number of players and coaches due to positive COVID-19 tests, are as healthy as they have been all season, and should be close to 100 percent for the affair.

Cleveland remains at 9.5 point underdogs for the 3pm EST game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
