Reason For Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah's Draft Day Fall

All throughout the pre-draft process, Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was considered a first-round talent. In fact, some were even predicting that he could be taken somewhere in the top 15.

Then on draft night, Owusu-Koramoah fell out of the first round entirely. On Day 2, he fell all the way to the Cleveland Browns at the No. 52 overall pick. But why? Sure at just under 6-foot-2 and 221 pounds, he's a little bit undersized, but that shouldn't be an issue with the way he can be utilized.

Well on Monday, Adam Schefter with ESPN revealed the reason. Owusu-Koramoah apparently has a heart condition that was discovered by teams late in the pre-draft process. He was eventually cleared by doctors, but it did play a role in the fall.

Owusu-Koramoah is going to be one of the draft's biggest steals.

Despite size limitations, he's a versatile piece who can line up in a variety of roles for that rebuild defense. He's excellent in coverage, which is why he can line up against a slot receiver or tight end. He delivers tone-setting hits, and he's got instincts.

He's the only FBS player to have 140-plus tackles, five-plus sacks and five-plus forced fumbles over the last two seasons, according to CBS Sports. If you don't know his name, you need to go ahead and get familiar with it.
