Ravens Broadcast Gets Interrupted By Fan On The Search For Beer
Late in the first quarter of the Baltimore Ravens game against the Cincinnati Bengals, panic could be heard from the broadcast booth of M&T Bank Stadium as a drunk fan tried to climb inside the broadcast booth looking for a drink.
The wild exchange can be heard as Baltimore color analyst Obafemi Ayanbadejo interrupted the play-by-play call of Gerry Sandusky, who described the actions unfolding as the Bengals continued with their third drive of the game.
After a short catch by the Bengals' Tyler Boyd, Ayanbadejo can be heard exclaiming: "What are you doing?!"
That was followed by more shock. "Wh-wh-what are you doing?" Listen below:
It isn't unusual to hear an analyst express shock on the air, so it's possible few people realized anything was wrong .. until Sandusky described the scene that had just unfolded inside their broadcast booth.
The female fan apparently climbed up into the booth from the seating area and requested a beverage.
"If you were listening, you heard Femi say, 'What are you doing? What are you doing?'" Sandusky said. "He was not talking to the players or the coaches. We actually had a fan who was trying to climb into the broadcast booth!"
"She said, 'I am a veteran and I am looking for a drink,'" Sandusky relayed.
"Yeah, I don't serve drinks at the game," Ayanbadejo said. "I might make some cocktails at home, but this is not the right time or place."
"You just never know who is going to pop up or show up on game day," Sandusky replied.
Thankfully, the Ravens' radio team was able to escape a strange situation and did so with grace.
