Raiders QB Marcus Mariota Receiving 'Real' Trade Interest

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Marcus Mariota is garnering "legitimate and real" trade interest, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. That's not necessarily a shocker, as Mariota is viewed as a starting-caliber QB who is currently backing up Derek Carr.

Rapoport cited Mariota's late-season showing while Carr was injured as the reason opposing teams are suddenly interested in him. Speaking of Carr, his name has also come up in trade rumors lately, but he's likely not going anywhere, Rapoprot said.

Mariota, 27, was selected by the Tennessee Titans with the No. 2 overall draft pick in 2017. The Titans opted not to re-sign him at the end of the 2019 season, and Mariota agreed to a two-year deal worth $17.6 million with the Raiders.

He appeared in just one game with the Raiders, completing 17 of 28 passes for 226 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. The Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers are among the teams reportedly contemplating a quarterback change.
