Race Car Driver Lindsay Brewer Is Back Behind The Wheel, Simms Was Wrong On Brees & Bama Wins Again

Good morning everyone...you caught up on that lost hour of sleep?

Let this all sink in for a minute. You're going to get St. Patrick's Day this week and March Madness. Remember a year ago when that didn't happen? Prayers to those of you who are about to go on a five-day bender starting Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. or whatever time you like to get things rolling.

Now for the bad news because it can't all be good these days. I need you to realize that the NCAA Tournament schedule will look different this year. The First Four will be played Thursday and then the first round will begin on Friday. I know, it's an absolute travesty that you won't get the traditional Thursday bender. The NCAA claims moving the tournament from a Thursday-Sunday opening weekend schedule to a Friday-Monday schedule is due to COVID testing and protocols...blah, blah, blah.

This also means that Sweet 16 weekend will be all jerked around with the 16 games being played Saturday-Sunday with the Elite Eight played on Monday-Tuesday. The Final Four will stay with its Saturday/Monday format.

The First Four games start Thursday at 5:10 ET. Adjust your gambling mentality accordingly.

• How long before Cris Collinsworth is pushed out of his analyst seat by Drew Brees? 2022, right? I don't have CC's contract in front of me, but I do know that NBC Sports didn't hire Drew to be a studio analyst for long. He'll be thrown into the typical NBC training ground of working Notre Dame football games, appearing on The Today Show (as he did this morning). He'll probably work the Macy's Thanksgiving parade and maybe even a Triple Crown event.

• Did you catch the Grammy Awards? Didn't think so. The Strokes won Best Rock Album, and I didn't even know they were still together and/or releasing music. Such is the state of the rock industry, thanks to the radio programmers out there. Meanwhile, the rock stations are playing songs that are 27 years old. Throw us a bone, radio programmer guys. How about a few new songs from new bands to mix things up. Maybe 1-2 new songs a weekend. Please?

• A keg has been tapped in my basement. The beer wall project will be producing results when I sit down Friday to watch March Madness. First up: brown ale. It's slim pickins out there right now on the sixtel market.

• I doubt you're shocked by this news: Airline bookings are up.
