ProFootballDoc: OBJ Agrees With ACL Recovery Assessment
Twitter can become polarizing, but positive interactions can be had and it is still a great connector. On Twitter, I replied to followers asking for video analysis of the Odell Beckham Jr. ACL rehab progress.
OBJ, the man himself, responded and agreed with my statement for the most part. He looks great for four months post-op ACL reconstruction and demonstrates his strong rehab and great athleticism, but he is far from ready. He acknowledged my comment that deceleration and cutting are the key (not acceleration) and that is still to come.
Beckham did object to my comment that the video seemed sped up and denied that. I have to apologize and clarify that I wasn't accusing him or his people of doctoring the film. Using a cell phone camera and then translating to social media posts is not an exact science in terms of frame rate. He adds that the video posted was not even his max speed.
At this rate, OBJ is on pace to be ready and productive for the start of the season and will get even better as the year progresses. Remember, it is easier for a wide receiver to perform early. Defensive players have to react, so offensive players can dictate the play. The Browns will now look to "add" another formidable weapon to their arsenal.
