Problems On The Surface: Another Brady Toss Will Result In A Fine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said Monday the NFL warned him that damaging a league-issued Microsoft tablet on the sideline during a shutout loss to the New Orleans Saints.

"I did get a warning from the NFL on that," Brady said Monday on his SiriusXM podcast. "I can't throw another Surface, or else I get fined. Imagine that!"

ESPN reports Brady apologized for the incident, which he said was done out of frustration after he threw an interception late in the fourth quarter — the tablet was damaged beyond repair.

"I won't throw another Surface," Brady said. "Although I think it was pretty good marketing for the Surface at the end of the day. I think it worked out pretty well for them."

The Buccaneers were shut out 9-0 by the Saints on Dec. 19 in a game that went entirely against predictions. It marked the first time a Brady-led offense was shut out since 2006.

The veteran's tablet-breaking scene wasn't only aired during a nationally televised game, but Saints defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson — who was responsible for an interception during the Week 15 game.

Microsoft Support responded to his tweet: "We've reviewed the tape and while we don't recommend throwing your @surface (even if your friend holds the NFL record for career completions), here are some tips on caring for your Surface ..."
