Pete Carroll Feels Future As Seahawks Coach Secure
Black Monday was brutal for some NFL head coaches like former Chicago Bears' Matt Nagy, Miami Dolphins' Brian Flores, Minnesota Vikings' Mike Zimmer, but Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll isn't concerned about his future in Seattle following Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals.
"No," he said when asked if he had any questions about his future in Seattle, Around the NFL reports. "I'm in great shape."
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said Monday the Seahawks don't plan to fire Carroll because of the 7-10 record put up in 2021.
Carroll and the rest of the Seattle leadership are set to meet with owner Jody Allen and discuss a plan for the future. Rapoport said if they're all on the same page, then they'll give it another go.
The speculation surrounding Carroll's future has lingered as a rough season turned sour in December after back-to-back losses wiped away playoff hopes, but after the final game of the season, QB Russell Wilson pledged his allegiance to the only NFL franchise he’s ever known.
