Pat Mahomes' Mom Defends Her Son Following Injury, Calls Browns LB Wilson Out

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Pat Mahomes left Sunday's AFC Divisional affair against the Cleveland Browns with a concussion midway through the third quarter, and Pat's mom wasn't too fond of the hit he took.

Randi Mahomes took to social media to defend her son after he was knocked out of the eventual 22-17 win, going after Browns linebacker Mack Wilson, who was responsible for the hit that concussed Mahomes:

After the hit by Wilson, Mahomes got up and clearly was not 100 percent. He had to be helped off the field with the help of some of the Chiefs staff.

 

Wilson himself took to Twitter after the tough loss ending Cleveland's season, saying that he hoped that Mahomes was going to be okay.

Mahomes himself didn't seem overly concerned about the hit, despite being knocked out of the game and the Browns nearly pulling off the upset. He responded in kind to Wilson's tweet.

Another Browns player, defensive end Myles Garrett, said that he wishes nothing but the best for the Chiefs quarterback, but that no one on the Browns team is out to hurt anyone else.

“I’m definitely praying for Patrick,’' Garrett said.

“I’ve known Pat since we were in high school and he’s always been a great dude. Nobody on our team is headhunting or going after a guy trying to hurt a guy no matter how good he is. We’re praying for his recovery. We’re praying for his success.

Now the biggest question is about Mahomes' status for Sunday in the AFC title game at home against the Buffalo Bills. Even if he does play, it is unlikely that he will be 100 percent healthy.
