New Titans Pass Rusher Bud Dupree Ready To Make An Impact Following Torn ACL

Bud Dupree suffered a nasty torn ACL last season during the Steelers' 11th win, a 19-14 slugfest with the rival Baltimore Ravens. The injury ended his season.

He's working his way back though, and doing it with a new team, as this past offseason in free agency, Dupree inked a five-year $82.5 million deal with the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans signed Dupree to improve the pass rush, which was lacking last season. For his part, Dupree wants to prove he's more than just a guy who runs after the quarterback. He can also be versatile in other aspects of the game.

“Anytime you get paid to pass rush, you go ahead and get sacks and make big plays in the run game, be an all-around player,” Dupree said recently on NFL Network.

“You don’t just come in just to be a one-trick pony and just do pass rush.

“You’ve got to be able to be a tone-setter on the edge, as well, swarming to the ball, stopping the run, evolving your teammates, getting everybody hyped up.”

Dupree thinks he'll be back to form in 2021, something that convinced the Titans to give him a massive deal early on in free agency.

In 2019, Dupree went off for 11.5 sacks with 68 tackles, 16 of which were for a loss. He also had 17 quarterback hits, which was a career high.

“We’ve got to go out and be tough, tough as nails, go out there and just play to our best ability,” Dupree said.
