Mychal Kendricks Free To Continue NFL Career After One-Day Prison Sentence

After being charged with insider trading in 2018, former Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks has been sentenced to spending a day in jail, along with a 3-year probation sentence and 300 hours of community service required.

Experiencing continual delays with his sentencing since first pleading guilty on September 2018, news arrived on Thursday in what resulted as a slap on the wrist for Kendricks, compared to the potential 25 years in prison initially cited with the charges.

According to Adam Schefter: "Free-agent LB Mychal Kendricks was sentenced today to one day in jail, three years of probation, and 300 hours of community service for his 2018 guilty plea on insider-trading charges. Kendricks is now free to resume his NFL career immediately and he wants to continue playing."

After being connected to cash donations and Philadelphia Eagles game tickets gifted to market insider Damilare Sonoiki as part of illegal trading practices in 2013, Kendricks' lighter than expected sentencing was a result of working alongside law enforcement and the FBI in 2017 regarding the alleged crime.

During the ongoing process, Kendricks won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. He then joined the Seahawks, Browns and WFT before undergoing the legal process involved in the investigation. The 30-year-old linebacker is currently a free agent and free to sign with any team.
