More Fists Fly At Joint Practices After Browns And Giants Duke It Out
As temperatures kick up and temperaments get testy, the joint practice routine incorporated by the NFL has allowed a number of altercations play out among its players.
The Tennessee-Tampa Bay fused practice on Thursday saw Bucs receiver Antonio Brown cleanly connect a left jab on Titans DB Chris Jackson. On Friday, another bout broke out during the Giants-Browns joint session.
Tensions were riled as Cleveland corner Troy Hill and Giants wideout Sterling Shepard went from a shouting match to a boxing contest. Hill started the scene by throwing an inaccurate punch that missed the Giants receiver. Shepard evaded the punch and prepared to charge at Hill before teammates swooped in — fellow Giant John Ross used his 4.22 speed to rush over and haul the heated teammate away from the scrap.
Despite their draw on the field, the Browns squad got to raise a victorious glove at the end of practice.
As the Browns defense bullied Giants quarterback Daniel Jones into throwing several turnovers, also capping the Giants' final drive of the day with an interception, morale began to drop on the New York sideline quicker than a slant pass to Evan Engram.
