Michael Irvin Loses His Mind Over Moss vs. Rice Debate

Randy Moss really started something here. Last week, the Hall of Fame receiver declared himself the best ever to play the position. It's good to have confidence, but Moss took things too far when he listed Jerry Rice at "third or fourth" best.

That last statement has sparked debate and outrage. Rice, himself, has hilariously responded to the Moss rankings, as have others, such as Tyreek Hill and countless fans. Now, it's Michael Irvin's turn.

The Hall-of-Fame-receiver-turned-sports-commentator had a few things to say about the seemingly endless debate. On Wednesday, he joined the Damon, Ratto and Kolsky show on 95.7 The Game.

"Jerry Rice is the greatest of all time," Irvin said, via NBC Sports. "If anybody says anything other than that, they need to see some kind of doctor to examine his cranium. Period."

Talk about bringing the heat. Irvin not only sticks his "Rice is the GOAT" flag in the ground, but he also questions the sanity of anyone who doesn't agree with him.

Statistically, there is no doubt who the GWROAT is.

Irvin doesn't just call Rice the greatest receiver of all time, however. He says that Rice is the greatest player ever, regardless of position.

"You gotta pay homage to what this man has done," Irvin continued. "This shouldn't even be a discussion. I got Jerry Rice up there with the greatest player ever, period. I don't wanna hear wide receiver. I'm talking about period, of all time. This discussion should not be a discussion."

Look, it doesn't seem like this debate is going to end anytime soon. It's like the Michael Jordan-LeBron James back-and-forth. People are going to find evidence to support their case, but it's hard to argue with Irvin here.
