Josh Allen Rookie Card Sells For An Insane Amount Of Money
Surprisingly enough, sports cards are starting to make a comeback. We've heard stories of that return, and a recent purchase of a Josh Allen rookie card is the latest example of it.
According to an article from Radio.com, an autographed rookie card of the Buffalo Bills star quarterback went for $210,000, which is the highest price we've seen for such a card. Beckett Grading Services graded the autograph a 10 and the actual card a 9.
On the surface, almost a quarter of a million dollars for a little piece of cardboard seems like a lot. Well, it is a lot -- like, A LOT -- but that's where the market seems to be heading. A Tom Brady rookie card just went for $1.32 million, following his seventh Super Bowl win.
In other words, if Allen can just win seven Super Bowls between now and the end of his career, you can turn that $210,000 investment into over a million. Pretty sweet deal, right?
In all seriousness, this sort of news is becoming less and less surprising. In addition to the Brady sale, we've seen a couple Michael Jordan rookies go for $700,000 apiece recently, and a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card go for $1.6 million.
When we say sports cards are making a comeback, we mean it.
