John Clayton's War With DirecTV Is Over, The Super Bowl Will Be On At John's House
The TV gods have spoken and John Clayton will be able to watch the Super Bowl on his TV at home in Seattle. The Professor made the glorious announcement Sunday morning that he'd won the war with AT&T that has lasted around two months and has caused great pain inside the Clayton household.
"Cox and DirectV reached agreement late Saturday night on a deal that will allow everyone in Seattle to watch the Super Bowl on KIRO," John tweeted Sunday morning to all those who had watched the man have a meltdown earlier this week.
“I can’t believe my wife and I can’t watch the Super Bowl because Directv and Cox tv cant reach a deal for channel 7 in Seattle. I’ve been to 45 Super Bowls. Missing my first since 1983. Locast is has problems connecting. I’m in the Hall of Fame. Directv is shutting us out," Clayton rage tweeted Wednesday as Super Bowl LV closed in.
It's been quite a week for Clayton. He went nuts Wednesday pleading for someone to come to his rescue. By Friday someone, as I suggested right here on OutKick, installed an antenna for the guy.
Now here we are on Super Bowl Sunday and John doesn't have to worry about the antenna acting up. His cable is back to normal and he can relax -- after a Sunday Slayer liquid lunch bender (I'm thinking deep tracks off the 1983 Show No Mercy album) -- and watch the Chiefs and Buccaneers get it on at 6:31 ET or whatever weird time the NFL has set.
*I apologize to Tenga for saying, in an earlier John Clayton post, that it was in a carriage fees dispute with AT&T. It was actually Cox Media. Tenga settled its war with AT&T back in the fall.
