Jacksonville Jaguars Clinch Trevor Lawrence Pick
After the Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the Chicago Bears and the New York Jets beat the Cleveland Browns, the Jaguars have officially clinched the first overall pick in the NFL Draft which will almost certainly be Trevor Lawrence.
The only scenario where the Jags would not pick Lawrence, widely regarded to be a generational talent on the level of Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck, is if he decided to return for another year at Clemson.
If you know anything about New York Jets fans, they will be distraught for decades to come over squandering their pole position for this pick with wins over the Browns and Rams these past two weeks. You have to give Adam Gase and the Jets players for not folding it in at a juncture where many teams quit on the season, but their results could very well have done long-term harm to the franchise.
The Jaguars, meanwhile, are now an extremely attractive destination for a new coach and general manager.
