Is Free Agent RB Todd Gurley Set To Sign With The Baltimore Ravens?

Free agent running back Todd Gurley has spent the offseason looking for work, and reports say that he just might have a landing spot in Baltimore with the Ravens.

The 26-year-old has not put up big numbers since 2018, but more than what he can do on the field, he would provide a veteran presence to the backfield for players like J.K. Dobbins who are still young coming off his rookie season.

Last season Gurley played for the Atlanta Falcons, starting in 15 games. The back ran for 678 yards and nine scores.

He was released by the Los Angeles Rams after five successful seasons with the organization. He had two monster years in 2017 and 2018, rushing for 1305 and 1251.

Gurley also had a nose for the end zone, leading the NFL in touchdowns those two seasons, scoing 13 times in 2017 and 17 times in 2018.

Last season the Ravens leading rusher was actually quarterback Lamar Jackson, who went just over 1000 yards with 1005 yards and seven touchdowns.

Dobbins ran for 805 yards and nine scores, while Gus Edwards rushed for 723 yards and six touchdowns.

How Gurley would fit in that mix is anyone's guess, as the coaching staff will have to come up with ways to get him into the game if they feel he's worth getting the playing time.

Gurley at 26 still has plenty of gas left in the tank, but he needs the opportunity to show that he can still perform at a high level in the NFL.
