Free Agent TE Delanie Walker Feels He'll Get A Chance Somewhere In 2021

Though 36 years old with some previous injury issues, Delanie Walker has had his moments as a tight end in the NFL, playing for the likes of the San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans.

Walker has been in the league for 14 seasons, and in that time, he's had five seasons in which he's caught 60 or more passes. He has also collected 5,888 yards with 36 touchdowns.

Right now, the tight end is still sitting on the free agent market without a team.

Walker says that he'd love to go to a team that is looking to make a Super Bowl run in 2021, and there's no doubt that a lot of teams can use a quarterback "arm" to help in camp.

It's almost a given that someone is going to give Walker a chance at some point if tight ends become scarce on the free agent market.

“My goal is just to try and get in the best shape I can possibly get in because I know that opportunity is going to come where someone is going to need a tight end for training camp, and that’s where my opportunity is going to come,” Walker said.

“But for right now, I couldn’t tell you who I will be playing for or what teams are looking at me.

"They talk to me, but at the end of the day, I feel like they think that the ankle is a problem, and my age, so teams are really not trying to give me a good deal, I feel like. We’ll see what happens in a time of need, when they really need a tight end.”
