Former Titan Logan Ryan Rips Tennessee Fan Base

Giants defensive back Logan Ryan spent three seasons in Tennessee, but likely won't be welcomed back to Nashville for any future team reunions. Despite two playoff appearances in his three years as a Titan, Ryan didn't love his time in Tennessee -- because of the fan base, or lack thereof.

“I played in a franchise in Tennessee where the fan base was nonexistent. You couldn’t even get fans to the games," Ryan told reporters on Wednesday. "You had to put tickets half-off to get fans to the games."

Not only did Ryan take a shot at Tennessee, he also indirectly took aim at the AFC South when discussing the Giants' division. "I understand the tradition of this area, the history of the NFC East, what these rivalries mean with Philly, Dallas and the Washington Football Team," said Ryan. "It means a lot this is what people talk about day-in and day-out.”

Unfortunately for Ryan and his Giants teammates, the people of New York are talking daily about the Giants' putrid 4-11 record. “We realize it — and is just not OK,” said Ryan. “Their reaction is OK. The product isn’t OK right now. I take that to heart as a leader on this team. I haven’t felt like the preparation, the work has always to the result on the field. I understand that and take my share of ownership on that. I just try to symbolize the way to play.”

New York has dropped four-straight games. Ryan is part of a defense that ranks in the bottom half of the league in both points and yards per game. The Titans, by the way, are currently 10-5 and leading their division.

"I hear what the fans are saying. I understand the frustration, and I’m equally as frustrated,” Ryan added.

Tennessee is scheduled to host the Giants next fall. You can bet the nonexistent Titan fan base will be anxious to snatch up those half-off tickets, along with the opportunity to properly welcome Ryan back to the Music City.
