Former Teammate Patrick Peterson Thinks Fitzgerald Will Return To Arizona

While an official decision has yet to come from the source, Arizona Cardinals wide out Larry Fitzgerald will be back for the 2021 season, according to a longtime teammate.

That teammate is Patrick Peterson, who played opposite Fitzgerald for 10 seasons with the Cardinals.

Peterson tried to work out a deal to stay with Arizona, but instead left to ink with the Minnesota Vikings and continue his quest for a Super Bowl.

The former Pro-Bowl corner said that we would have already heard if Fitzgerald was going to call it quits, so he must not be ready to do so.

"If he ain't retired yet, he ain't going to retire," Peterson said of Fitzgerald on his All Things Covered podcast with Bryant McFadden.

Fitzgerald is originally from Minnesota, and McFadden asked Peterson whether he thought Fitzgerald might want to join the him in the Twin Cities.

"That would be interesting if he wanted to come back to Minnesota, but I necessarily don't see that happening," Peterson said.

"If there was a team that he was going back to, it would be Arizona."

Fitzgerald, 37, has never played for another team since joining the league back in 2004.

In his career, he's had five seasons with over 100 catches, nine seasons with over 1000 yards, and five seasons of double-digit touchdowns.

He may not be the threat he was earlier in his career, but it wouldn't be a shock to see Fitzgerald give it one more shot in Arizona in 2021.
